January 2022 marks 10 years since Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (HHFT) was formed, a move which saw Basingstoke and North Hampshire, Royal Hampshire County and Andover War Memorial Hospitals come together as one trust. The trust has been marking this special anniversary throughout January, and will continue to do so over the course of the year, celebrating the achievements over the decade and looking ahead with excitement at the years to come. Find out more here.

As part of HHFT's 10th birthday celebrations, Hampshire Hospitals Charity (HHC) have launched a ‘£10 for HHFT10’ fundraising campaign. This campaign gives everyone the chance to make a small donation that will collectively make a big difference, enabling HHC to fund items and support for staff and patients above and beyond what the NHS provides. Read the full story here.

The trust has announced that current COVID-19 restrictions will remain in place at its hospitals across Andover, Basingstoke and Winchester following the easing of national COVID-19 restrictions as of 27 January. As part of the measures that will continue at the trust’s sites, all patients, visitors and staff are required to wear a surgical face mask. These actions will ensure the safety of all patients, visitors and staff. View the full story here.

Hampshire Hospitals is introducing 22 new resuscitation devices across the maternity departments at Basingstoke and North Hampshire, Andover War Memorial and Royal Hampshire County Hospitals after thousands of pounds were raised last year. The resuscitaires, which replace the current machines used, will allow newborn babies to get immediate support with their breathing, temperature, oxygen levels and other key interventions. Read more about these valuable additions here.

HHFT's vaccination hub at Basingstoke Hospital has now transitioned to it's second phase as part of the trust's COVID booster campaign. This move has seen a shift in the focus on operating a walk-in service, to one more targeted in vaccinating inpatients and other vulnerable groups. Alongside this, the wider NHS, led by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care System, will continue the mass public roll out. Read more here.

Following an unannounced inspection of Hampshire Hospitals' maternity services in November 2021, the CQC have now issued a report, which can be found here. The trust has issued this statement in response to the release of this report and the findings which have now been published.

Hampshire Hospitals is delighted to share that ED Matron, Julie-Anne Fulford, has been honoured with the Associate Royal Red Cross in the 2022 New Year Honours list. Jules, who is based at Basingstoke Hospital, receives the honour for her amazing work and clinical leadership throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Congratulations on such a special achievement, Jules!

A 14-year-old aspiring neonatal nurse is embarking on a virtual cross-country marathon walk in order to raise money for the youngest patients in Hampshire Hospitals’ neonatal units. Bracken Henderson is walking the length of the UK, the 874 miles from Land’s End to John O’Groats, in just nine months to raise money for Hampshire Hospitals Charity.
