5-star food hygiene rating for Trust eateries

Four of the Trust’s eating establishments in and around the Trust’s catering departments have achieved the prestigious 5-star food hygiene rating, showcasing their dedication to maintaining excellent food safety standards.

Malton, Selby, Scarborough, and York’s eateries have all scooped the top hygiene accolade. Each of the teams has demonstrated their impressive commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food safety, providing customers with peace of mind when dining.

Jo Dea, Head of Facilities, explained: “I am incredibly proud of our teams across all our catering establishments. To achieve such high ratings demonstrates the commitment to all our catering colleagues. We look forward to welcoming our customers new and old in our restaurants.”

Healthcare support workers praised by Chief Nursing Officer

We are incredibly proud of Dawn Welsh and Alan Porter, two of our healthcare support workers recently presented with awards for their outstanding care and compassion for patients.

The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) Awards were developed to reward the significant and outstanding contributions made by healthcare staff in England.

Simon Morritt, Chief Executive, has said: “I’m delighted and chuffed that Dawn and Alan have been so publicly recognised in this way – fantastic news.”

New wound care service

A new joint venture between healthcare teams has launched at Acomb Garth, York, to provide a specialist wound assessment clinic for patients in the community with lower limb wombs.

The new team is made up of a specialist tissue viability nurse and podiatrists who will provide a holistic wound assessment in one appointment, as well as ongoing care plans for patients. There is no other service in England run by podiatrists and tissue viability that delivers a lower limb diagnosis, assessment, and a treatment plan in the same appointment.

This month: 44th Regional NHS Carol Service

On Wednesday 29 November, York Minster will be hosting the 44th Regional NHS Carol Service.

A choir of around 100 local NHS staff will perform carols to mark the start of the festive season. The choir is directed by Andrew Padmore, a popular conductor with choirs and orchestras internationally.

The concert begins at 7.30pm. Booking is not required but we suggest arriving in good time to secure a seat - doors open at 6.45pm.
