Welcome to Kingston Hospital's August newsletter - giving members early access to some of our news and activities.

Wishing a warm welcome to all our new members and we hope you enjoy reading our latest updates.

We are continuing with plans to merge with the NHS community services in Richmond (currently part of Hounslow and Richmond Community Healthcare NHS Trust) later this year, subject to NHS England and Secretary of State approval. You can read more about our partnership on our website.

Anyone aged 14+ can become a member of Kingston Hospital, so please help us spread the word to friends and family members. More information about how to get involved can be found on our website.

Thank you for your support.

New ultrasound scanner expands 'one stop' service for patients

A new ultrasound scanner, funded by Kingston Hospital Charity, is helping to provide a ‘one stop’ service for patients visiting Kingston Hospital with suspected gynaecological cancer.

This will reduce the number of women needing to visit the hospital
for multiple appointments, meaning getting a cancer diagnosis and accessing treatment would take longer.

With the new scanner in use, the gynaecology service can now
offer same-day ultrasound imaging and appointments with clinicians, helping to improve access to services for patients and enhance
patient experience, as well as helping the Trust to meet cancer treatment targets.

Tell us about your experience

Kingston Hospital and Hounslow and Richmond Community Healthcare (HRCH) are inviting patients

to share their experiences. As we move towards an integrated organisation, our ambition is to
ensure our new organisation – Kingston and
Richmond NHS Foundation Trust – provides
the best possible care.

Listening to our patients and local people is central to this.

Walk with our nurses at Kingston Hospital Charity's Night to Remember

Two of our children’s nurses are calling on the local community
to raise money to support bereaved families, by taking part in
Kingston Hospital Charity’s Night to Remember
walk.

The event, which is taking place on the evening of Saturday 7 September, is Kingston Hospital Charity’s third memory walk,
providing an opportunity for people to come together and celebrate
the lives of loved ones, whilst walking a route of six and a half or
13 miles, starting and finishing at the Market Place in Kingston.

The money raised at this year’s Night to Remember will go towards
providing specialist psychological support for bereaved families
after the death of a child at the hospital, or to a service or ward
of the walker's choice.
