All HHFT sites are particularly busy at the moment and teams are working incredibly hard to care for everyone coming through our hospital doors. We are asking the local community for their support at this time, particularly in using the right service to get the care and advice needed. Find out about the services available here.

As of Wednesday 30 March, we have confirmed a change to our trust visiting guidance. This guidance will not impact on the arrangements in place for maternity services or for patients in receipt of palliative or end of life care. There are a number of other ways in which loved ones can keep in touch with patients, including virtual visiting. You can view the latest guidance here.

Patients in Hampshire will benefit from an ambitious new HHFT clinical strategy, launched this month. The trust's clinical strategy 2022 – 2028 will shape care over the next six years and focuses on three key themes: providing high-quality personalised and individualised care, innovating for future patients, and promoting the wellbeing of staff, patients and wider population. Read the strategy document in full here.

We are delighted to announce our haematology team have received a national Myeloma UK Clinical Service Excellence Programme (CSEP) AwardThe award recognises dedication to treating and caring for patients with incurable blood cancers, including myeloma, and celebrates excellence in myeloma care in order to best meet the needs of patients. Read the full story here.

A recent staff survey has shown that 87% of HHFT staff feel their role makes a difference to patients, following a challenging year tackling COVID-19 and growing pressures. The survey, run annually by all NHS Trusts, invites members of staff to answer questions about what it is like to be part of the HHFT team. For more details about the results, please click here.

On 22 March, we hosted the latest trust Health Focus event, going 'behind the screens' to discuss all things digital, from how the trust cares for patients using virtual wards, to how hospital experiences are made better for patients and staff. If you missed the event, not to worry - you can watch a full recording of the session here.

Earlier this month, Winchester Hospice welcomed the BBC’s Songs of Praise programme team, including operatic star Katherine Jenkins, as they filmed a special segment in the Hospice’s stunning Psalm 23 garden! The garden will feature as part of the programme's Palm Sunday episode due to air on 10 April 2022.

Members of Hampshire Hospitals are invited to attend the trust's upcoming Board of Directors public meeting, taking place virtually on Thursday 31 March (10:00-13:00).

These meetings provide an opportunity to hear more about the latest trust updates, including discussions of new policies that may be implemented. If you would like to attend, please email [email protected] to obtain a meeting link.

Winchester Hospice will be opening a pop-up shop next month as part of Winchester Fashion Week. The charity, which is seeking to raise at least £500,000 towards the running costs of Winchester Hospice over the next financial year, will be running their pre-loved pop-up clothing boutique at the King Alfred Pub, in Saxon Road, Winchester, from Monday 4 April through to Thursday 7 April (10:00-15:00).

As part of the charity's ongoing fundraising efforts, HHFT Members are also invited to join a Fundraising Golf Day taking place at the Royal Winchester Golf Club on Wednesday 8 June. Click here for event details and to book your place.
