Our HHFT trust strategy, which will shape the priorities and decisions across the trust over the next seven years, has now been published! This plan, which is guided by our inclusive care values, benefits both our population and staff. It will also prepare the trust as a whole for the future and will help us to achieve our vision to provide outstanding care for every patient. Read our trust strategy in full here.

As of Tuesday 23 August, we have confirmed a change to our trust visiting guidance. This new guidance will see two visitors per patient permitted between the hours of 12:00 and 19:00, and appointments will not need to be booked in advance. Please note, this guidance does not impact maternity services or patients in receipt of palliative or end of life care for whom visitors have been allowed throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. View the latest visiting guidance.

At HHFT, we’re taking the next step to ‘go green’ by encouraging more patients to use the digital services on offer. As part of this we have expanded our virtual appointment offer, enhancing patient experience and improving accessibility – these services bring care closer to people’s homes whilst making our hospitals more sustainable. Learn more about our digital services here.

On Tuesday 19 July, we held our HHFT Annual General Meeting! Whilst we had hoped to hold it in person this year, in the interest of keeping staff and the public safe, we made the decision to host it virtually only. However, this didn't stop us and we still had great presentations from expert speakers, as well as engaging Q&A sessions throughout. In case you missed it, you can watch the full recording here.

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Steve West as our new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) here at HHFT. Steve joins the trust from Babcock International Group and he will bring broad and extensive experience to the role, helping to deliver the trust's seven-year strategy and financial targets. Find out more about this appointment here.

Hampshire Hospitals Charity have launched their flagship fundraising campaign, The Magic Lion Appeal: Enhancing hospital care for children and young people in Hampshire. The appeal will raise funds to improve services within HHFT’s child health department, including decorations and upgrades, as well as reconfiguration of spaces and equipment upgrades. Discover more about how you can get involved here.

Three HHFT trauma and orthopaedic consultants have recently been recognised as the top three trainers in the region following the announcement of the ‘Trainer of the Year’ at the recent Wessex Gauvain Society Annual meeting! The accolade, which is voted for by over 50 orthopaedic trainees, saw HHFT's Daniel Marsland pick up the main prize. Read the full story.

Join us for our next Health Focus event on the evening of Tuesday 20 September (18:30 start), where we will be talking about all things organ donation.

The free virtual event will see us joined by Amy, who will be sharing her family’s story of giving a life-changing gift to another at such a difficult time. We'll also be sharing what's happening right now across our hospitals, with an update from chief executive Alex Whitfield.

We are so excited to welcome you to this event which is open to everyone, raising awareness of such an important topic.
